My family are going on a disney cruise and have a question. We will be doing the Atlantis excursion. What we are wondering is do you need to take take ID, example passports, with you and if you do how do you keep it safe while enjoying Atlantis?

Hi Jason, and welcome aboard! I'm excited for you to enjoy an amazing cruise aboard one of Disney's pixie-dusted ships! I've been on all four of the ships and enjoy each one for a completely different reason, so I promise that you're in for a magical time no matter on which ship you'll be sailing! Disney just does it right!

My family always brings our passports with us when we disembark the ship in the different ports of call. I like to have that sense of security that if something were to happen, like one of us gets hurt or sick and is unable to get back to the ship, we would still be able to get back home a bit more easily than if we didn't have our passports.

The guides on most of Disney's Port Adventures will let you know where to store your belongings during parts of the adventure when you can't have your bag with you. Sometimes there are lockers available, or the guide may just lock the bus with the driver staying nearby. If you're swimming with the dolphins at Atlantis, for example, you will be able to put your bags in a locker while you're in the water, but would keep them with you as you tour Atlantis. The Aquaventure at Atlantis offers lockers for rent at an additional cost. You didn't mention which Atlantis excursion you'll be on, but certainly your guide can let you know the best place to store your bags.

There are some times, though, that you might just be leaving your bag on the beach if you're relaxing there and then splashing in the waves for a bit. Just like any other beach trip, keep an eye on your bag and most likely all will be fine. We've never had any problems with our belongings on our adventures. Just don't leave anything too valuable if you won't be close by.

Have a wonderful cruise, Jason! Let me know if I can help with anything else before you set sail!
