    My family of 5 (DH, 2 DD's, DS, and myself) will be visiting WDW May 22-31, 2009. We are staying at the Polynesian in a standard view room. What building would be the best to request for the view? For convenience to travel?

    Kelly,

    Glad to help with ANY question about the Polynesian!

    Because you are choosing a standard view room, you are almost certainly not going to be overlooking the lagoon or the Magic Kingdom. But you still need to consider what is the best view.

    I would suggest that you request any of the following (in order of preference);

    • Tokelau Longhouse
    • Tahiti Longhouse
    • Niue Longhouse
    • Samoa Longhouse, facing East
    • Fiji Longhouse
    These selections should keep you from having to face south along the southernmost edge of that resort. This is important, because residual noise from the Disney Speedway can get a bit annoying in the afternoons (during nap time).

    The first two are also nice because they place you near the Eastern-most edge of the resort. That means that while you could walk to the resort's main building (and the resort's monorail stop), you could also walk to the nearby Transportation and Ticket Center where you could get a boat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom or a monorail to Epcot. This speeds up your travel to both parks.

    I am glad to answer any other of your questions. Just go to my bio page to ask!

    Have a magical vacation!
