My family is on the DDP. Can my children order adult meals at the counter service places, even if these places offer kids meals? I am confused about this. Thanks!

    Sue,

Unfortunately no. Children aged 3 to 9 are required to order meals from the children's menu if one is available.

On the page titled "Why Stay at a Disney Resort?" there are PDFs for each dining plan that show not only restaurants on the plan, but also some FAQ sections that address this.

The good news is that Disney has been working hard to improve the children's menu items at both table service and counter service restaurants around the parks and resorts. You will find not just healthy choices, but more choices that reflect the theme of the respective restaurants as opposed to the simple "chicken nuggets/mac-and-cheese/burger" lineup that hardly impresses.

If you are interested in some suggestions of restaurants where I have found some children's menus that are fun and creative, feel free to send me a follow-up question and let me know where you will be for what meals, as well as any cuisine preferences.

    Have a delicious vacation!
