My family is considering taking a 3 Night Bahama Cruise in early April of 2016. What kind of temperatures and weather would we expect that time of year?

    Ahoy, Terry!

While none of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel claim to be a meteorologist, I can tell you from personal experience that I have had wonderful weather every time I have cruised on Disney Cruise Line. In early April, you should expect it to be nice and warm during the day. One of the nice things about being on a ship in the ocean is that if there is a bit of ugly weather, the captain can often steer around it. On my Southern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Magic last October, there was a severe storm that hit around the islands that we were scheduled to visit. Captain John rerouted us around the storms and changed the order of which we went to the islands, so that we would avoid the weather.

The official hurricane season for the Caribbean is June - November, so you are not really in danger of a hurricane. There could always be high winds, but that could happen at ANY time of the year! Even when we have cruised in January, we have always worn shorts on our shore excursions and my daughters swam in the ship's pools. I think you will have a DREAM-filled time if you decide to cruise in April.

I hope this helps to ease your mind a bit and you make the PLUNGE to take the cruise next year! Please let me know if you have any more cruise planning questions.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
