Hi, my family is coming to WDW in May and we are trying to decide between AK or Wilderness Lodge for accomodations. My children are 2 and 4. Which hotel will the children enjoy more? We like to swim and will have a few breakfasts at the hotel.

    HI!

May is such a beautiful time to visit Walt Disney World! I hope you have perfect weather for your vacation!

Deciding between the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge is so tough! They are both beautiful resorts, and you really can't go wrong with either!

While both resorts are beautiful and have excellent pool areas & children's activities, our family prefers the Wilderness Lodge. I think the Wilderness Lodge may work great for your family too due to its location.

With young ones, or anyone who likes to take a pool break in the afternoon, the convenience of the boat ferry to the Magic Kingdom just can't be beat! Its easy to start your day at the Magic Kingdom while crowds are low, and then head back to the lodge for an afternoon swim break. Once you are refreshed from the break (and even naps if you're lucky!) you can head out to a different park or back for more fun at the Magic Kingdom.

Another great plus of the Wilderness Lodge, is that you can easily head to the Contemporary or Ft. Wilderness for a meal via the boat ferries that rotate between these three resorts. Breakfast at Chef Mickeys (with characters of course!!) in the Contemporary is always a huge hit.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful too - and, honestly, Boma is one of the best restaurants at any resort! Transportation between parks and the Animal Kingdom Lodge will be by bus, but its still possible (but not nearly as easy) to take an afternoon break.

I hope this helps you decide. Have a great trip!
