Hi Moms, Me and my family will be coming to WDW in Aug 11 (Yippee!) staying on site and notice there will be some extra magic hours on some evenings, could you tell me please how the park is cleared of guests so that only resort guests remain in the park?

    Hi Nicola,

The park is not really "cleared" of non-resort guests during evening Extra Magic Hours. Instead, beginning at the official park closing time, anyone in the park will have to show their Walt Disney World resort ID card to get onto the rides. For example, during evening Extra Magic Hours, you will need to show your room key to the attendant at Space Mountain if you want to go on the ride. SInce this greatly limits what non-resort guests may do in the park, they tend to leave very quickly.

In previous years, resort guests were given special wrist bands during EMH, but this was found not to be environmentally friendly.

Also, please be aware that all members of you party will be asked to show resort IDs during EMH, even children. Be sure to keep their cards with you, even if they don't contain the childrens' park tickets.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World.
