My family and I will be coming to Disney World the week of Thanksgiving. Is the weather at that time more comfortable in shorts or jeans, t-shirts and jackets? We have been there in December and during that time got pretty cold some nights. Any advice?

    Hi Denecka,

We love visiting the week of Thanksgiving as it is usually the perfect mix of crowds for us. The holiday weekend is crazy and gets us into the spirit of the upcoming Christmas holiday, and the the week after, the crowds usually drop and we can enjoy the parks with minimal waits.

The average temperature around the end of November is mid to high seventies during the day and mid fifties at night. We have been there a number of Thanksgivings where it is quite comfortable in shorts and t-shirts during the day and jeans and sweatshirts at night. We did have one Thanksgiving trip that was unseasonably cold and we wore jeans and jackets the whole time, however that was not the usual weather we encounter. We have found that we are most comfortable starting  the morning in shorts with a sweatshirt .  We wear a t-shirt underneath and just store our sweatshirts for later, once the morning chill wears off.

The resort pools are heated, however the evening air can be cold if you are wet, therefore we usually do any swimming during the afternoon. Keeps us from getting icicles on our nose. The best bet for packing is to check the weather forecasts a few days before your departure and plan accordingly. I would certainly bring at least a couple of pairs of jeans and sweatshirts (or even a light jacket) for the evenings and any chilly days.

Hope you have an amazing trip. Be sure to save time to enjoy all the amazing Christmas decorations!
