Hi there, Amy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The 4th of July is such an exciting time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, and I know that you will have such a magical time.
While details of the 2020 4th of July celebration have not yet been announced, in years past, the Magic Kingdom played host to a special nighttime spectacular titled “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” This one-of-a-kind show was held on both the 3rd and 4th of July and evoked the spirit of freedom with a 360-degree fireworks extravaganza! Additionally, DJ led dance parties throughout the park had guests moving to the beat, despite the heat.
Previously, Epcot celebrated the 4th of July with “The Heartbeat of Freedom,” a heartwarming show with fireworks, lighting projections, and water features. Since this special 4th of July show was tied into the no longer running Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, we are still waiting for an official announcement on if Epcot will be hosting its own 4th of July fireworks show. If you have not yet had the pleasure of viewing Epcot’s new nighttime spectacular
Epcot Forever, I highly recommend it.
Additionally, years past have seen special 4th of July themed merchandise and fabulous limited-time food and beverage offerings throughout all four Theme Parks and exclusive to those dates. Amy, expect an
official announcement of all the fantastic 2020 4th of July events as the date nears.
Amy, with so many amazing activities, I recommend that you arrive at both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot a little before the published
park opening hours on both July 3rd and 4th. You don’t want to miss a minute of the magic! I hope that this helped you with your Walt Disney World Resort planning adventure, Amy, and we hope to see you real soon!
