Hi, My family and I will be coming to Disney for a family reunion of sorts, but might be staying in 2 different resorts. Is there any way we can have a pool day together at one of them?

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney from another Massachusetts resident!

Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect vacation destination for any type of celebration (or really for no reason at all)!  Grab some "I'm Celebrating" buttons and enjoy your trip, whether it's a family reunion, a much-needed escape from cold weather, or just a reason to add a little more magic into your life!

Officially, Walt Disney World Resort does not allow Guests to use the Resort pool of any other Disney Resorts Collection hotel than the one in which they are staying.  Oftentimes, especially at Disney Deluxe Resorts with fascinating feature pools and waterslides, Cast Members will be checking MagicBands for Guest room reservation information, making sure that all the Guests using the pool are staying at that particular Resort.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, depending on which Resorts your and your other party members are staying.  Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter are considered "sister" Resorts, and Guests of these Resorts are able to swim freely between the two Resorts.  In the same vein, Guests of Disney's All-Star Resorts can use any other All-Star pool, so if your family is staying at Disney's All-Star Music Resort and you are staying at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, you are all welcome to splash and swim together.

My suggestions for spending a day outside of the Theme Parks, but still having fun as a family, would include checking out one of Disney's Water Parks, like Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  You can still relax, refresh and enjoy the water while spending time together AND experiencing some family thrill rides like Miss Adventure Falls. Plus, you can grab a delicious treat from Happy Landings Ice Cream. The "Sand Pail" might just be big enough to fill everyone's bellies!

If you'd rather, you can also plan to visit each other at your respective Resorts for a dining reservation or to simply take in the beauty of the Resort.  Walt Disney World Transportation is easy and, like the Disney Skyliner, sometimes an attraction in itself.  Enjoy all the Resort has to offer even on your rest days!

    Enjoy your magical vacation, Jennifer!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
