We are a family of 5 (children ages 11,14 and 16) looking to visit WDW for the first time in December 2012. Where would be the easiest place to stay for dining and transportation and is it better to do a suite or 2 rooms adjoining?

Tammi congratulations on your first visit to Walt Disney World! Your family is going to a blast!

Typically the most convenient places to stay are the monorail resorts. These deluxe accommodations are located on the monorail loop that services the Magic Kingdom. Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa all have excellent restaurants, easy access to the Magic Kingdom, and top notch service.

If your budget is not up for deluxe consider one of the moderate resorts. Disney's Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter is my favorite due to its manageable size, blue sea serpent water slide, beautiful landscaping, and wide range of recreation choices.

One of the family suites in the new Disney's Art of Animation would work well for your family. With a mini kitchen, two bathrooms, and a separate master bathroom these well themed suites provide plenty or room and are a great value. Our family of six usually opts for two adjoining rooms since this choice allows you to stay in any resort and our vacation cooking only consists of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cereal. The family suites, however, do tend to be a better bargain.

Please contact me if you have additional questions about resorts or any topics concerning your upcoming vacation. Wishing you a magical trip!
