Hey there! Hi there, Danielle. I am so glad you sped by planDisney as you are about to race across the "Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth!" sign. Let's go!
How and when you can purchase a
Lightning Lane Multi or Single Pass depends on where you are staying and the types of theme park tickets you have.
If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection or
other qualified hotel, you can purchase Lightning Lane passes seven days before your resort check-in date for the length of your stay (up to 14 days) with any ticket type.
If you are staying elsewhere, you can buy them three days before your theme park visit. If you have a multi-day date-based ticket, like a 5-day ticket, you can purchase passes three days before your first theme park day for any or all days you will be at the theme parks. If you have an Annual Pass or other ticket that is not date-based and are not staying at Walt Disney World, you can buy them three days before the day you spend in a theme park.
I know that there are a lot of "IFs." I think my current planning may provide some insight. I am heading to
Walt Disney World Resort next week and staying at
Disney's Old Key West Resort. We are traveling with close family friends staying at a
Good Neighbor hotel. We want to plan our rides together. So even though I can purchase passes for my family now, we are waiting to get Lightning Lane passes and Multi Pass attractions at the same time as our friends. They are using
Military Salute tickets, which are available to military members and are not date-based. We will purchase passes one day at a time, three days before each theme park visit.
The easiest way to get Lightning Lane attractions together is to purchase them together (even if it means waiting). First, make sure you are all connected as
Family & Friends. Then, once you are all eligible, open the Lightning Lane tile on the
My Disney Experience app home page. Pick the date, the theme park and the eligible Guests you want to include in your group. If you are getting a Multi Pass, you will also pick three attractions and see the proposed arrival windows. You can make modifications to the attractions and times based on availability. When you are all set, you can follow the prompts to purchase the passes for everyone in your group.
Danielle, I hope this helps. The Lightning Lane prompts on the app make it really easy to plan and include everyone you can. If you have any other questions, know you have a friend in
planDisney!
Gobble up the Fun!
