    My family of 5 will be booking a room at POR. I would like a "preferred" room close to transportation & pool/food/... but I know we need a room with the Murphy bed. Do these 2 options coexist or are the Murphy bed rooms in a non-preferred area?

    Congratulations on booking your stay at Disney's Port Orleans--Riverside.  It is a beautiful resort, replete with Southern charm and hospitality.

    The "twain shall meet" at POR, in the form of Alligator Bayou.  Preferred rooms are considered to be buildings 14, 15, 18, and 27 in the Alligator Bayou section of POR. These rooms offer close proximity to the main building, transportation and dining areas of POR. Should you want to be right in the middle of it all, you could ask for building 14, which is the closest to Ol' Man Island and the lobby and food court.
