Welcome aboard, Emily! Your family is in for a magical cruise this winter!
Disney Cruise Line does not have free wifi, but offers different
internet packages. Purchasing these packages entitles you to use up to a certain amount of data for any online activity such as checking email, using social media, or surfing the web on your personal laptop or mobile device. When I set sail, I love to unplug and enjoy the escape from being so "connected", so I do not purchase a wifi package. However, most of the time when I've sailed recently, I've noticed a special in the Personal Navigator (the newsletter you'll receive each day onboard) on that first day that offers a free 50 MB Internet package only available to claim on the first day, but useable throughout the sailing. I simply follow the directions and sign up for that free 50 MB package. It's been enough data for me to log onto Facebook to post a picture or so each day on the sailings, but not enough to play around online much more. You may want to watch for that special in your first Personal Navigator, and you can always purchase more time on top of that if need be.
Have you heard about the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App? You will want to download this app
to your mobile devices before you arrive at the port, and once there, you can access the DCL-GUEST wifi network for free for use of this app only. The wifi network requires a purchased internet package for any other internet use, but the Navigator App works for free on this network, so that all guests can use the app. It has the schedule of events around the ship as well as menus, maps, and a fun texting feature to keep in touch onboard.
Enjoy a great cruise, Emily!
