    Hi, my family and I will be arriving at WDW on May 27th for Memorial Day, is there any special event for this holiday at any of the parks?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We were at Heritage Manor Gifts just yesterday looking at “USA-themed” Disney t-shirts, planning what we were going to wear for Memorial Day, so I was delighted to see your question!

    Memorial Day officially kicks off Summer, and it is one of my favorite weekends to visit Walt Disney World. Since most schools haven’t started Summer break yet, the crowds are relatively low for a holiday weekend, and the weather is warm enough to enjoy all the water fun, but not too hot to be uncomfortable.

    Besides wearing patriotic shirts, we tend to spend our Memorial Day barbecuing, watching parades, and in the water. Walt Disney World can provide all of the above for you! The American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot hosts patriotic themed entertainment all year round, and the Colonial Theater and it’s unfolding of America’s journey is a perfect place to start.

    Main Street U.S.A. will be decked out in red, white, and blue bunting and I’m sure the Dapper Dans will be singing songs of independence! The perfect hot dog awaits you at Casey’s Corner, just in time for you to grab a spot to watch the parade roll down the street!

    I think Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect place to top off your celebrations! On select nights starting May 30th, the water park is hosting the ultimate glow party. During Disney H2O Glow Nights, special characters celebrate Toy Story 4 with food, music, and fun!
