Hey there, Andy, from a fellow Illinoisian! I’m so glad you found us here at planDisney to ask your questions, and I am happy to help you out.
I was a little unsure of your travel plans, and where you are staying when you travel to The Most Magical Place on Earth next month. If you have a Walt Disney World vacation package booked, you can order MagicBands at a discount through
MyDisneyExperience. If you have just tickets to head to the WDW theme parks, you can purchase MagicBands online at
shopDisney and link them to your MyDisneyExperience.
As far as your Disney Gift Cards are concerned, I would recommend heading to the
Disney Gift Card website and combining the cards onto just one gift card. You can load a maximum of $1000 per Disney Gift Card. Then, when you are at Walt Disney World, you can use that gift card to pay for just about anything from snacks to meals to souvenirs. You can even use Disney Gift Cards to pay for mobile orders for food on the MyDisneyExperience mobile app, which is SO great! I was able to order my favorite snack, the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich from
Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom while we were in line for Pirates of the Caribbean. Once we arrived to the dining location, I simply clicked “I’m here” on the app, and my order was ready in minutes! No more standing in a LONG line to order food? YES PLEASE!
One of the other great things about combining your gift cards on the Disney Gift Card website is that you can keep up to five numbers saved on your account. That way, should anything happen to your gift card (lost), you can transfer the remaining balance to a different gift card very easily. This happened on our recent family vacation. I gave my son a $50 gift card to use for his incidentals, in case he happened to be without us. He misplaced the card (we did find it later in the dirty laundry), and I was able to go into the website and transfer the remaining $28 to a different card.
I hope you have a wonderful visit next month and enjoy getting out of the cold of our state for a few days.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
