Family of 5 (3 adults, 3.5 yr & 15 mo) visiting 8 days in Nov/Dec 2008. Reserved a 2 br villa at Saratoga. A 1 br villa at boardwalk is avail. Space is not the issue, have read the transport from Saratoga is long & difficult? What's your take?

I have stayed at both the Boardwalk and Saratoga Springs. I wouldn't exactly say that the transportation from SS is long and difficult, but I would say that the transportation from the Boardwalk is particularly good. From the Boardwalk you can easily walk to Epcot, take a bit of a longer walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios, or take a quick and pleasant boat ride to either. So from the Boardwalk, transportation to two of the four theme parks is really a non-issue. You would take a bus from the Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. You would take a bus to all four parks from SS.

My family's plan when staying in the Epcot resorts area has always been to visit the MK, DHS, or AK in the morning, come back to the hotel for a rest or a swim, and then take advantage of the fabulous restaurants a Epcot or the Boardwalk area in the evenings. This works particularly well with small children because after dinner you're just a few minute walk away from the room and can easily get the sleepy kids into bed quickly.

Also, the Boardwalk is a fun place to walk in the evening as well. When I was there last weekend with my daughters we saw a great magician while enjoying an ice cream. A sweet way to end a day at WDW.

If space is not an issue for you, I would switch to the Boardwalk.
