We are a family of 8 (4 adults, 4 children) staying in 2 std rooms at the Coronado Springs from 12/27/09 to 01/02/10. Value Resorts were not an option, since we thought we would feel cramped in terms of space. Was the Coronado Springs a good decision??

    Hi Lillybeth,

While the Disney Value Resorts are nice, you will definitely find the moderate choices roomier for your family. Coronado Springs is a great choice.

We just stayed there last December. It was the first time I had been back to that resort in many years and I forgot how much I enjoyed the property. The resort has a great Spanish American feel to it and the rooms are done in warm wood and cream colors with great accents including privacy doors around the vanity area.

The resort itself features a quick grab-n-go area for pastries, drinks and snacks as well as the Pepper Market, which is a food court with a very open air outdoor market feel. Table service is available at the Maya Grill. There are numerous activities your family can enjoy like biking, boating, fishing, a health club, The Explorer's Playground and Dig Site (this giant sandbox with treasures just waiting to be found was one of my kids favorite places), salon and spa services and an arcade. The main swimming pool is near the Dig Site and is themed around a Mayan pyramid with a huge waterslide, hot tub and kiddie pool.

Transportation from the resort to the parks and Downtown Disney is offered by Disney bus, which makes various stops at the different "hubs" throughout the large resort. Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful holiday decorations throughout the property and an early morning walk around the 20+ acre lake, Lago Dorado, is a peaceful and gorgeous way to start the day.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
