Our family, 4 adults & 5 children ages 1-13, traveling in early August. Staying at PC & got discounted tickets from military base. We need help with budgeting for meals. No car. Tight Budget. Only mini fridge in room. Suggestions?

Wow!  it sounds like it's going to be an awesome family vacation with everyone going together!  I love it when you can bring a big family down to Walt Disney World and share the magic with the whole gang!

The easiest place to save money on meals is at breakfast time.  Bring some things from home, like cereal, Pop-Tarts, breakfast and granola bars, etc.  Those are all things that require minimal preparation, and you can pick up milk at the resort to use for cereal.  I also bring a box of Capri Sun or juice boxes in my bag, so I save a little bit of money that way as well.

Another area to keep the food budget under control is with snacks.  I bring peanut butter crackers or crackers and cheese; nuts; raisins; granola bars; and the juice boxes or pouches.  I throw them in my backpack in the morning heading into the parks, and then the kids have them to snack on all day.  If I am going to buy a snack in the park, it is almost always something that my three daughters can share, like a box of popcorn or a turkey leg (which really is almost a lunch for my three).

And sharing is another good plan!  Many of the restaurants are generous with their portions, so my kids can often share things.  When you place an order for a burger at a counter service location, you don't have to order a full meal, so I will sometimes just get burgers for two of the kids, and the combo meal for the third one, allowing them all to split the fries.  At sit down locations, we might order a salad and an appetizer, or order an appetizer and share the entree.

    Have a wonderful trip!
