Hi, Lisa, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for bringing us a very interesting question. Typically, I recommend to my friends staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel that they should utilize
Disney bus transportation to the parks as much as possible, especially when traveling to Magic Kingdom Park. In my experience, it takes significantly longer to enter this park when I have driven my own car versus when I have taken the bus. This is because Disney transportation drops off Guests right at the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park, whereas all others must park at the Transportation and Ticket Center, then take the monorail, ferry or bus to reach the park entrance.
If you are not totally committed to driving, you may want to consider boarding the Magic Kingdom Park bus when it stops by your
All-Star Sports Resort, especially on this early park arrival day. During my recent use of the "highway in the sky," the
Walt Disney World Resort monorail began Express line service to Magic Kingdom Park one half hour before the park opened, and Resort line service around an hour before park opening. However, the monorail has frequently undergone enhancements, leading to modified hours throughout the day. This can be time-consuming and I would hate for you to miss one minute of magical memories. If you do choose to take your own Magic Carpet during your visit, Cast Members should be available in the Transportation and Ticket Center area to direct you to the best available transportation.
No matter your choice, Lisa, I hope you have a practically perfect day at Magic Kingdom Park. Please let us know if you have any further questions as you continue to plan your visit.
