Hi, we'll be 2 families traveling to WDW in august with 2 kids 3 years old. They both will be borderline for the 42'' height requirement. They will probably be it with they shoes on. So, i want to know if WDW checks precisely the heigts for rides ??

    Hi Patricia,

I remember with such excitement when my daughters could finally ride the big kid rides!

Disney is always striving to keep its guests safe. This is why there are height requirements on rides like Khali River Rapids and Space Mountain. Each guest who is close to the minimum will be measured twice. The first will be at the entrance of the queue and the second will be right before boarding. Your children will not need to remove their shoes as this is accounted for in the measurement.

Finally, ask yourself how will the children handle it if they can not ride the attraction. Will it cause tears? What if one can go and one can not? I am a whimp so I purposely kept my daughters off of the big rides until both could go on them and were clearly over the height. There was so much to see that they did not even realize they were missing a ride. Plus it allowed us something new to experience on future trips.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
