    How are families selected to open Magic Kingdom each day? I have identical twin daughters who will be visiting Magic Kingdom on their 9th birthday and I thought this would be an awesome treat.

    Hello fellow mom of 8-year-old twin girls!

    Opening the Magic Kingdom would be an awesome birthday treat, but unfortunately it is not one that you can arrange in advance or promise your daughters. The families that open the Kingdom are simply randomly selected guests. If you're at the park early, there is some small possibility that they could choose you, but this is extremely unlikely.

    There are many other wonderful ways to celebrate birthdays at Disney World. During the trip that coincided with my twins' 6th birthday, we went over-the-top with character meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel sent balloons to the room. And we let them choose all the rides on their special day. Search for "birthdays" on this Moms Panel site for some more great ideas.
