    My fam of 4 was scheduled for POFQ for our 2nd trip to Disney WK of Thxgiving 2013 and the free dining made it almost same to switch to AKL! My boys 10 & 7 are over the moon! What are the must dos!? Room requests? Had done NO research on this resort.

    Congratulations on planning your second visit to Walt Disney World Resort! As much as I like Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, I'm an even bigger fan of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm so excited for your family to be able to experience a stay at this incredibly unique resort! I've included a link above where you can find more details on rates & room types, dining, recreation and amenities. You can also view an online interactive map of the resort to get a better feel for the layout of the property. 

    When you check in at the Front Desk, be sure to ask for the Monthly Activities Schedule which lists all the complimentary cultural and educational programs offered at the resort. Some of our favorites include African Face Painting, Medallion Rubbing, Animal Tracking, and Night Vision Animal Viewing. The beautiful Uzima Pool is one of the largest on Disney property and features a fun water slide. My daughter loves heading out to the Arusha Rock Overlook to spot the animals listed on the Wildlife Field Guide. We also enjoy taking time to chat with the Savanna Guides about their native countries. Another fun activity is the evening campfire where guests can roast marshmallows and enjoy the savanna views. Disney movies are also shown nightly.

    Your boys could easily be entertained all day long at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I highly recommend spending at least one entire morning and/or afternoon at the resort to explore the property, enjoy the pool and take advantage of all the wonderful activities.
