Fam of 4, boys 10 & 7 coming for 2nd trip. We stayed at POFQ last time and loved it. Quaint. Easy boat & bus access. Can't afford to stay deluxe for 7 days considering spliting and spending 4 days at POFQ and 3 days elsewhere? Any suggestionsnot to

    Hi Caroline!

I agree whole-heartedly with your choice of Port Orleans French Quarter! It is my favorite moderate resort. I'm always happy to stroll along looking at the beautiful architecture. And, of course, I have to head over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for my morning beignets! Yum!

If you're looking to resort hop during your stay, I have two great options for you: All Star Sports and Wilderness Lodge.

All Star Sports - If you're looking for to save a few additional dollars (more souvenirs!), then this Value resort is a great choice. Since my kids aren't huge sports nuts, we were a bit hesitant to try this resort but we were incredibly surprised. The resorts decor is over the top and we loved the pools. The baseball pool kept our son entertained for hours. Transportation from this resort to the parks is all by bus, but it is usually the first stop for pickups/dropoffs when the resorts share buses.

Wilderness Lodge - In the Deluxe category, the Wilderness Lodge is an excellent choice. It is, by far, our favorite resort! This Pacific Northwest styled resort is beautiful inside and out. The grand lobby is breathtaking and there are tons of resort activities for kids. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is often a popular restaurant with the kids. Plus, this resort offers bunk beds - a real life saver with kids who argue over who sleeps where! From here, you can take a quick boat ferry to the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and Fort Wilderness. Bus transportation is provided to the other theme parks - or you can hop on the Monorail, transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center and head to Epcot. As a bonus, it is one of the least expensive of the Deluxe resorts as well!

Hope this helps! The good news is that you really can't make a wrong decision!
