Hi there, Ariadnee!
Welcome to planDisney, I'm so glad you're here! There's something so fun about watching your kids light up when they see their sweet faces covered in a beautiful, sparkly design or transformed into fierce warriors!
Face painting is sometimes available at the Disneyland Resort, but I find that it's one of those magical opportunities that isn't super dependable. A wonderful Cast Member named Veronica Rose even went on the hunt with me today to try and find more information for you, but we sadly don't have any official information for you about when face painting may be available. The most likely place to find face painting would be in Fantasyland between the
Matterhorn Bobsleds and
"it's a small world" at Disneyland Park, if it's available. I do know that face painting is currently being offered during select hours at Disney California Adventure Park near
Lamplight Lounge.
I know it isn't quite the same, but a fun alternative could be stopping by the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to ask for a quick sprinkle of pixie dust! An apprentice would be thrilled to add some shimmer to anyone in your party who needs a happy thought, and it's a quick and complimentary way to put some extra magic into your day. You could also do a little shopping in the boutique to choose some royal makeup or accessories to finish off your look!
Speaking of royalty, did you know that
Tiana's Palace will be opening in early September? You can be some of the first to sample
Princess Tiana's signature dishes! That House-filled Beignet with lemon icebox pie filling and lemon glaze is definitely on my "must-try" list. Yum!
Ariadnee, I'm sorry that I can't promise there will be an artist for face painting during your visit! If face painting isn't available I hope these ideas will help you find a different special way to feel extra magical for the day.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
