Extremely excited to see Fantasmic as it was my DH and my favorite show on our honeymoon. Our concern is as we read more, we aren't sure it is going to be okay for our 4 and 2 yr old kids. Thoughts?

I have three daughters myself, ages 4, 6, and 8, and they enjoy Fantasmic. We have been taking them to the show since they were born, really, and they have never been frightened. It's hard to say, really, if that is because they have been going since they were so small that they never thought to be afraid, or because they are unusually brave - but I tend to think the former.

My rule is that the kids must go on every ride they are tall enough to ride. They must try it at least once. So my little ones have been on Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur, and other 'scary' rides - and they don't bat an eye. I did a little pre-show pep talk - something like 'Part of the fun here is that they try to surprise you. Some people think it is scary and so they might scream, and that's ok. It's fun to scream sometimes! Just remember that it's all pretend and just for fun, and you can squeeze my hand if you want a hug, ok?' Works for us!

All that said, though, only you know your children. If they are easily frightened or overly emotional at home on a regular day, then it's very likely that they would be upset at Disney, too. The 'scary' shows might be overstimulating. If you're unsure, I would still take them to the show, but sit near the back. The view is very good from all areas of the stadium, and in the back it might feel less intense. And if need be, you will be closer to an exit in case you decide to leave early.

    Hope that helps!
