Bright Suns and Rising Moons Ken, I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney from wherever you are in the galaxy!
I must admit, I spend more time than I really ought to
roaming the marketplace to peruse the garments and wares here at Black Spire Outpost, but there's really nothing like voyaging off-planet to retrieve some precious goods from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. If I didn't have the stoic restraint taught by the Jedi I'd probably own several Legacy lightsabers at this point from
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities, but there's really nothing like being able to
build your own at Savi's Workshop under the careful tutelage of the mysterious Gatherers.
I've definitely observed in years past how the Gatherers had previously allowed for the sale of spare parts or "scrap metal" to further customize and swap out for your hilt, but from what the Cast Members here at
Disney's Hollywood Studios say this has not been something offered nor available for some time. They recommended booking and paying for another Savi's Workshop session in order to craft another lightsaber and swap parts between them, which some intergalactic travelers are happy to do! It's always worth inquiring in person just in case, as Star Wars fans this year have been delighted to discover that they were able to purchase additional pieces over in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Resort (lovingly referred to as Batuu West by some) while crafting lightsabers during their
Season of the Force adventures.
I'll continue to keep an ear out for the whisperings here among the scoundrels and smugglers in case spare parts do ever become available to purchase, but I also recommend seeking out groups online of fellow builders that you may be able to barter with! In the meantime, don't hesitate to
come back to us here at planDisney for any other tips or advice from this galaxy or beyond.
Wishing you all the best on your quest to wield a weapon you can truly call your own!
Prince
