My extended family is planning on a visit ither the week before Christmas or the week after. Do u have suggestions as to which time is least crowded? This will be their first visit, and I want them to have as much fun as I did on our first visit. Thanks

Hi, Penny!  I can tell you that the week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the busiest at Walt Disney World.  People love to take advantage of school holidays to bring their families to see all the fabulous holiday festivities that take place throughout Walt Disney World.

If I were you, I would opt for the week prior to Christmas.  I will say, Christmas is on a Saturday this year.  With that in mind, as you get towards the end of that week prior to Christmas, you are likely to see a pretty dramatic increase in crowd volume, as schools begin to let out for the holiday.  By Friday, it will probably be pretty well packed.

If you do decide to go either of those weeks, make any advanced dining reservations that you want as far in advance as you can (you will be able to make reservations 180 days in advance).  The restaurants tend to fill up very quickly, especially many of the character dining experiences.

The holidays are a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World, and I can't think of a better time for a first visit!  I hope the trip you are planning turns out to be as wonderful as your first trip!
