Where should my extended family (7 adults/4 kids - 3,4,5,&8) stay. This is our 1st disney experience. We want a deluxe resort or large villa. I may rent points from a DVC member or stay at Shades of Green or the Swan because we can get military disco

    Hi Amy,

I would recommend the Boardwalk or Beach Club for your family in a villa.  This will allow you to stay together and you would have access to a kitchen.  Here you could, if you choose, cook some of your meals.  We have stayed with 10 people in the two bedroom at the Boardwalk and it was a lot of fun!

I am also choosing these resorts because of their location to two parks.  You can easily walk to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT. If you do not want to walk, the boats which travel between both parks have the ability to push your stroller onto them without collapsing it or removing a sleeping child which is a plus.  The Swan is in this area to so the same would apply to it.  The Swan has a "business" hotel feel not a "Disney" feel but nice clean rooms.

I have not had the honor of staying at the Shades of Green but the location near the Magic Kingdom is nice.  Also, you might be able to get a small military discount on tickets there so I would at least call and ask the hotel this.

    Have a wonderful time!
