Welcome back, Alexandra!
Disney Cruise Line vacations are so much fun and offer so much magic and excitement, but some guests add more magic to their cruise vacations by participating in Fish Extender exchanges with other Disney fans onboard!
While not sponsored by Disney, these gift exchanges are a lot of fun. Sometimes guests will meet up ahead of the cruise on online Disney fan forums, like Disboards.com, where they'll organize a gift exchange. They are called "Fish Extender" exchanges because guests hang pockets from the fish clip in the hallways outside their stateroom, thus "extending" the fish, to add pockets for gifts to be hidden. My kids love participating in these exchanges when we've done so on a few of our Disney cruises. They adore going deck to deck to leave a little gift for the other guests we've joined in the exchange.
If you'd like to send a box ahead to the ship with your gifts, or anything else you might not want to haul in your luggage, you're welcome to send one box per stateroom on your reservation. The box must weigh no more than 20 pounds, and be no larger than 12x12x12. No food of any kind, liquids, or weapons can be shipped. It must arrive by 3:00 p.m. one day prior to your sail date, and an itemized packing list must be included on the front outside of the box. I highly recommend that you plan for the box to arrive a few days earlier than that, just in case!
