Hiya Kristin,
I am so glad you stopped by planDisney, and asked this question. I was thrilled when Walt Disney World released this year's dates for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Our family are firm believers that the best time to visit
Walt Disney World Resort is the holidays! Specifically the weeks from Thanksgiving until Christmas, and one of the many reasons is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas parade.
This special ticket event is held at
Magic Kingdom on select evenings, from early November through the week of Christmas. Disney limits the number of tickets to each party which means you could see less wait time at your favorite attractions, and you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm EST, which gives you a full eight hours of park time until the party ends. However the attractions are just the icing on a very large gingerbread house. Guests attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be entertained by special entertainment including a holiday castle show, dance parties and a holiday edition fireworks show that can only be seen on these select evenings. I can tell you the past shows have been fantastic and I can only imagine this one will be even more magical.
And what is a holiday party without the appearance of Mr. Claus himself? Mickey, Minnie and his pals pull out all the stops for a fun, foot stamping, hand clapping holiday parade to welcome Santa to the party. They have even been known to make reindeer dance and snow fall on Main Street U.S.A. Can you imagine - Cinderella Castle in her holiday best, and Main Street U.S.A decked out in holiday lights with snow drifting down? What a picture perfect setting for a holiday family photo!
Need a little sugar pick me up to keep the party going? Not a problem! Party guests can enjoy free cocoa, cider and warm cookies at treat stations throughout the theme park. And if your sweet tooth is still craving more, you can find plenty of holiday treats available for purchase throughout the park. Besides all of that, our absolute favorite part of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are the special interactions with the Disney characters all decked out in the holiday and winter best.
My family has found the best way to enjoy the event is to take a slow start to the day. We use that morning and early afternoon to relax and enjoy our resort pool or perhaps take in a round of miniature golf at
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf. We then head over to Magic Kingdom just before the entrance time for the party and Ho-Ho-Ho our jolly selves through the entire evening.
I hope this helps with your planning. If you have any additional questions,
please stop by and see me. With pixie dust,
Margaret
