We are expected to arrive this week anend the weather is calling for thunder storms. Has anyone experienced rain conditions while vacationing at disney and how did you manage the theme parks?

    Hi Maria!

The weather in the Orlando area is such that the chance of rain is likely to occur at least once during a trip, no matter when you visit. Because of the heat and humidity, the weather often calls for thunderstorms in the afternoon, but they are usually quick. We often find that the weather is beautiful and sunny in the morning with a quick shower in the afternoon and back to beautiful in the evening.

We have been caught in thunderstorms while in the parks, but it is no big deal. You can either bring ponchos from home or buy the Walt Disney World ponchos at the park. We bought ponchos for each member of the family at a sporting goods store before we left home and kept them in our bag throughout the trip because they were so small. When the rain hit, we pulled on our ponchos and continued to tour the parks. If the rain is heavy, you may want to focus your activities on the indoor attractions, there are plenty of them throughout all four parks. Although, while raining, it is a great time to hit up those outdoor attractions that typically have long lines! You will find that Walt Disney World has many indoor attractions and even if the attraction is outdoors, the line queue is often covered, making your wait comfortable.

I hope you have a magical trip!

    Magically,
