Welcome aboard, Linda! January is a great time to cruise with Disney in the Bahamas! Average high temperatures are upper 70's to low 80's, which is pretty warm for the winter!
The last time we sailed in January, we enjoyed Blue Lagoon in Nassau, and my daughter and I even spent the morning swimming with the dolphins there. They provided wetsuits, but the water was warm enough anyway, and that's saying something coming from me. I'm a real cold water chicken! But, I didn't have a problem hopping in that pool with the dolphins to enjoy that magical experience. If you're not up for swimming with the dolphins, I still recommend the gorgeous trip to Blue Lagoon for the
Beach Day. It's a true paradise! However, if you're only wanting one beach day, save it for Castaway Cay, because that's the best beach out there!
Some other fun adventures in Nassau are any that visit the Atlantis Resort. An easy one that doesn't cost too much is the
Discover Atlantis tour. You'll get to explore quite a bit of the resort, including the famous replica of the dig of that lost city that contains a fabulous aquarium with all sorts of sea creatures. You could spend hours enjoying this, as my family and I have!
Another favorite is the
Graycliff Chocolatier, where you learn about and take part in the chocolate making process, then sample treats too! It is super hands-on, which I love, and who doesn't like chocolate, right? If you're looking to mix it up a bit from the traditional beach-type adventures for the day, this is the one to book!
I hope that helps as you plan, Linda!
