Excited to be in WDW next week. Because of knee surgery, I am unable to sit on ground, so where would there be places to sit for fireworks in any of the parks? Also if not in park, like on our day of arriv., where are good views, without dining? Thanks!

    Hi Laurie!

I can understand limited mobility while at Walt Disney World, as I had a broken foot the last time I visited.

One of the best viewing locations for the Magic Kingdom fireworks is from The Contemporary, especially the California Grill. You can call 407-WDW-DINE to make a reservation. You can also get a seat on the benches near main street if you get there early enough. Those seats will get taken fast, so you will probably need to arrange to find a seat a couple of hours before the fireworks begin.

In Epcot, you can see Illuminations all around the lake and there are benches all around the World Showcase Lagoon. Just try to get a seat early. La Hacienda De San Angel is the outdoor cafe in Mexico at Epcot and not only is their food wonderful, but the view of the fireworks from here is great! If you order from here, you can eat while enjoying the view of the fireworks.

Some of the best places to view the fireworks, without dining, include the  hill outside of the Grand Floridian Resort, the beach at The Polynesian resort and Wilderness Lodge. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can visit any of these other resorts and park for free.

You may also want to consider renting a scooter while you are at Walt Disney World so you will have enhanced mobility and a place to sit during all of the parades and fireworks.

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
