So excited to be visiting all four WDW parks in September! My daughter loves art, especially drawing. Is there anywhere in the parks or resorts that offers drawing or coloring of Disney characters? If not, anything art/drawing related that we should see?

Hi, Paul! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

If you haven't booked your Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation yet, I would definitely urge you to consider Disney's Art of Animation Resort, where you're surrounded by larger-than-life characters at every turn. In the lobby each afternoon, you can take complimentary drawing lessons from an actual Disney artist! Learn the techniques and tools they use to bring characters to life in a small-group session that lets you try your hand at drawing some of your favorite characters. I'll be the first to admit that my drawing skills are pretty sub-par, but I had an opportunity to learn to draw Winnie the Pooh in one of these sessions and I was totally impressed with my final product. The artists go step-by-step so that even the least-skilled of us can walk away with a masterpiece. Your daughter might even be featured as the Sketch Artist of the Day! These young artists will have their work displayed on an easel in the lobby and will receive a personalized certificate celebrating their "outstanding artistic achievement."

Speaking of the lobby, the decor itself is absolutely breathtaking. Here you're surrounded by sketches and cels from some of Disney's most famous animated features. Don't forget to look up, too! There's even more artwork suspended from the ceiling. To the right of the check-in desk, you'll also find a Disney artist hard at work. Stop by and chat with him or her about the process and watch them as they create stunning works of art right before your eyes. When I was there in November, there was also a Do-it-Yourself easel set up in the lobby with paper, colored pencils, and step-by-step illustrated instructions for how to draw Nemo, too!

I am confident your little artiste would absolutely love Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and I hope you have the chance to stay there--or at least stop by!
