Welcome Aboard, Jill!
While the meals in the Disney Cruise Line main dining rooms do tend to take some time, you can voice your concerns to your dining team. They will definitely work with you to either expedite your meal, help to keep your little one entertained, or whatever solution you feel will work for you.
You might consider getting a new special book, game, or toy that your son will only be allowed to use during meals. This could help keep him busy while you and your husband enjoy your meal. You also can schedule time in the
"it's a small world" Nursery!, maybe partway through the meal one of you can head there to drop off your little guy and then return to enjoy some adult-only time.
If you think your kiddo might sleep in a stroller through your meal, maybe you want to try eating at the later dining time. Then, you could feed your son earlier through either Room Service or something from the food areas near the pools. I know my girls were really good sleepers, so being in their stroller was not an issue.
Be sure to take your little guy to the
Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab during the open house times to play as a family! I bet he will love it, and it gives you a preview for your next cruise!
Please come back and visit us again here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions that arise before you set sail.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
