Hey there, Alison, and welcome back to planDisney!
If it's one thing I love, it's taking a vacation over the Holidays. Whether you're visiting family and friends or a magical place like the Disneyland Resort, there's just something special about spending time with your loved ones over the
Holidays. And unlike Mickey, who had to cut down and decorate his own tree only to have it destroyed in the 1952 film "
Pluto's Christmas Tree," you'll get to enjoy the giant
60 ft. tall iconic tree at Disneyland Park!
In response to your question, Alison, I do have to warn you that you are not guaranteed re-entry if you choose to leave the Parks and attempt to return later. Re-entry is always subject to park capacity. Normally, I would say that this is rarely ever a concern, but Christmas Day (along with New Year's Eve) is one of the busiest days at the Disneyland Resort, so the risk is a bit higher that one of the Parks might close. You'll just have to gauge how crowd levels are on the day of your visit. When I need a rest and don't want to leave the Parks, I often head for the
Animation Academy, Enchanted Tiki Room, or The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. These attractions feature comfortable seating where my legs can take a much deserved rest!
Be sure to take in all the Holiday decorations at the
Disneyland Hotel as well! I love how the Hotels also get into the festive mood for the Season. The
Disney Parks Blog posted a summary of all the goodies you'll get to experience during your visit too! Say hi to
Mickey and Minnie in their new Holiday outfits if you see them!
Alison, I hope that this answer helps you to plan a wonderful and magical stay at the Disneyland Resort this Holiday Season. Best wishes as you continue your planning and please let us know if there is anything else you need from planDisney! You're always welcome back. Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
