    So excited for our March land and sea trip! My question is regarding magic bands and hotel check in. If we receive our bands by mail before our trip, can we plan to go straight to MK from cruise? Or do we still need to check in at hotel before heading in?

    A land and sea adventure sounds like a practically perfect vacation to me.  I have to say I'm a tad bit jealous that you get to sail with Captain Mickey and also visit him at the Most Magical Place on Earth.  I hope you have a fantastic time.   

    Allison, your MagicBands will be activated for theme park entrance when you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort.   The only reason you would need to stop at your Resort first is if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, or you would like to use your MagicBands to charge purchases to your Resort account.   Those features would need to be quickly activated by a Cast Member at the front desk when you check-in.
