Welcome aboard, Brian! I'm happy to see a fellow Ohioan getting ready to set sail with Disney Cruise Line!
Though schedules are always subject to change, typically the
Golden Mickeys show is the first night of the Dream's 3-night sailings, so plan to keep that night open to see the show! If your kids like to be in front of the camera, you might want to arrive early and hang out near the Walt Disney mural outside the gift shops, before you get to the actual entrance to the Walt Disney Theatre. There, cameras and the host of the show will arrive to interview guests "on the red carpet" as they arrive for the show. My kids love to do this and always get a kick out of being on the big screen. It's shown live for those guests already seated in the theatre.
Alternately, the Cruise Staff Team does pick out a few guests (not the red carpet interviewees though) in the theatre before the show to be Snow White's seven dwarfs in the show. If your little ones like to be on stage, try to sit down in the front toward the left when you face the stage and watch for the Cruise Staff Team members who will be walking around before the show starts. Maybe they'll be chosen! My daughter had the most magical experience as one of the dwarfs, skipping across the stage wearing a beard and hat, holding hands with Snow White! What fun! We love the Golden Mickeys!
Also, keep in mind that the second night of the Dream's 3-night sailings tends to be
Pirate Night, which you might not want to miss either! Perhaps the last night would be a nice time to enjoy Palo or Remy and still be able to do it all!
Have fun planning, Brian!
