Ahoy, Ashly!
I can feel your excitement about your inaugural voyage with Disney Cruise Line in 2020! When my crew first set sail, my now teens were young Mouseketeers, and I planned a scavenger hunt Christmas morning with all sorts of fun gifts for our cruise. I wrapped all the packages in Disney-themed holiday paper and loved watching the joy on their sweet faces as they opened each one.
I think a piece of
Disney luggage is a great idea to start things off! I'd also recommend new bathing suits and beach cover-ups with their favorite Disney Character along with some sunglasses! If your girls love the Disney Princesses, princess gowns, pajamas, jewelry, nail polish, hairbrushes, toothbrushes, and toothpaste all make magical presents. Many sailings include a
Pirate Night, so why not go ahead and give them their pirate costumes. After Halloween is a great time to find some deals on these.
Shop Disney has LOTS of items that you can browse through including a new line of
personalized Disney Cruise Line vacation shirts that are perfect for embarkation day. Although they have them onboard, you may want to go ahead and purchase autograph books and colorful Sharpies for all those special signatures they'll receive on your sailing. When my sailors were little, I also liked to create a travel goodie bag that could be used in the car, plane or waiting in the cruise terminal. I included new crayons, coloring books, stickers, travel games, and a few snacks, (all Disney-themed, of course!) which was a great way to pass the time before the cruise. Dollar stores typically have a decent selection of these types of items. Over the yEARs, I've noticed a lot of Guests (young and old!) wearing all varieties of Ear hats and headbands onboard Disney Cruise Line, so something else to consider!
Ashly, I have one more idea to add to your list-Disney Gift Cards! They can be used on board in the
merchandise shops when your girls go to pick out the perfect souvenirs! On the
Disney Gift Card website, princess-themed cards can be ordered to make them a bit more unique.
I loved answering this question for you! I still pick out a few things for my kiddos for our sailings, but the items for teens aren't quite as fun as for the little ones. If you need any further help, please let us know!
Happy Shopping!
