Welcome Aboard, Melissa!
How super exciting that your first Disney Cruise is so close! The Disney Fantasy is such a gorgeous ship, I am sure you will absolutely LOVE it!
Since you are traveling with such a small person, I would definitely recommend bringing an umbrella stroller. Little legs get tired quickly, as do adult arms. A small stroller might be your lifesaver on this trip!
As far as Port Adventures, there are some that will exclude your little one, as it is not safe. You might consider simply getting off the ship and walking around the area to explore on your own. If you are on a Western Caribbean sailing, the
Grand Cayman Island Tour, which visits the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm is a good choice. Our children loved having the opportunity to touch the sea turtles there.
On St. Maarten, I found the
Afternoon Beach Bash Tour and the
SeaWorld Explorer Coral Reef Exploration port adventures to accommodate even the youngest cruisers.
You might also consider taking a taxi to a local beach. We have had good luck doing this, and found some of the best food we've ever had after asking a taxi driver where to go. Just be sure to arrange for them to come back later to bring you back to the ship.
I hope this helps with your cruise planning! Please visit us again with more questions as your sailing gets even closer!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
