How exactly does the WDW Dining Plan work in terms of payment for meals? Is it all attached to your account or magicband and it's deducted automatically without having to inform the cast member when order, especially quick serve & snacks? - Thanks.

Hi Tom, great to hear from you again.  Thanks for sending another great question to planDisney!

I was so excited to hear that the dining plans were returning to Walt Disney World on January 9, 2024! You will love the convenience of having prepaid meals and snacks.

You are correct.  When you purchase a dining plan, it will be attached to your reservation and you can use it in conjunction with your MagicBand.  To redeem, tell the cast member who is taking your payment for meals and snacks that you are on the dining plan.  The cast member will then deduct your meals and/or snacks from your dining plan.  After you go through this process the first time, you will realize how easy it is to use the dining plan.  And the cast members are wonderful at answering any questions you may have.

To determine how many meals and snacks you have remaining, check the My Disney Experience app, your most recent dining receipt, or visit the Resort Concierge or any Guest Relations location.

To track your remaining meals and snacks via the My Disney Experience app, visit the “My Resort Stay” section. Then, select “Check Dining Plan” to view the status of your dining plan meals and snacks.  It will show you how many meals and snacks were issued, how many were redeemed, and how many you still available.

I hope you find this information helpful, Tom.  Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with.  Diane
