What EXACTLY is Mickey's VM x-mas party about? This is our 1st trip during holidays & it sounds interesting but had a friend tell me it's not worth it as its basically walking around recording TV shows:/ Kids will B 12-9-5 will they like it? Please hel

Hi, Natacha!  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event held throughout the holiday season on select nights at the Magic Kingdom.  The park closes to the daytime guests, and a limited number of party tickets are sold, typically making the lines much shorter and the wait times way less than usual.

For the Very Merry Christmas Party, you'll enjoy special holiday themed shows and an amazing Christmas parade!  The park is decorated for the Christmas holiday, and there will be a special holiday fireworks display.  You may even get to see snow on Main Street, while you enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and some holiday cookies!

I always found the party to be well worth it for my family.  On party day, we usually either take a day off from the theme parks and do some shopping or relaxing, or we head to a different park than the Magic Kingdom and enjoy a few attractions before heading back to the resort to rest up.  The party runs from 7:00 PM until midnight, and honestly, I feel like we get more done in that amount of time than we do in a full park day!  Because tickets are limited, you can usually get on and off attractions much more quickly, and even things that generally have a long line are easier to access during the party.  The holiday theme just adds to the fun and excitement of the evening.

My girls are now 20, 11 and seven, and we've been going since my oldest was a toddler.  We rarely miss a year doing the party, and the kids always have a great time!  Who doesn't like all your favorite Magic Kingdom attractions with a bit of holiday spirit thrown in?
