Everything is paid for except fun money. How much should we bring? And I just read about a photopass which requires a voucher. Can I get one at the resort? Arriving 12/10/12 Sooo Excited for my Granddaughters 1st trip. Age 7!

    Hi Angela,

The answer to how much to bring is extremely variable depending on your party. Some guests allow their children/grandchildren (and themselves) just one modest souvenir for the entire trip. Others let the kiddos get a more substantial souvenir every day. The first family might budget $100 for extras, the other might budget $1,000. You can get a fair sense of the cost of souvenirs by going to disneystore.com and looking in the official parks merchandise section (NOT the regular merchandise section), this will show you the prices of things like Mickey ears and tee shirts.

You'll want to make sure to budget tip money. Tips are included in the Disney Dining Plan. You'll need to spend about 18% of the cost of the meal on tips. Other extras might be a hair wrap for little girls, or a trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a full princess makeover. You may want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for articles called "Frequently asked questions about tipping" and "Doing Everything at Walt Disney World." The second article includes a spreadsheet which notes the cost of many typical extras.

You may have heard about the PhotoPass+ product. PhotoPass+ gives you access to in park photography as well as many meal and ride photos at a flat rate. If you're interested in the more information about this, please write back and well be happy to provide all the details.
