Hi Jaiya,
Thanks so much for stopping back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another great question! I'd be happy to help you figure out the language behind the different restaurant descriptions at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Simply speaking,
Quick Service restaurants, or sometimes called Counter Service restaurants, are places where you'll order at a counter or through
mobile ordering (which I highly recommend!), then sit down at a table to enjoy your meal. Don't just think fast food, though, as there are a really wide variety of delicious choices available!
Table Service restaurants, on the other hand, are places where you'll be greeted by a Cast Member, seated at a table, and whether you're ordering from a menu or visiting an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet, you'll be taken care of by a Server. Another major difference is that dining reservations are highly recommended for Table Service meals while you can be much more flexible with Quick Service meals.
As for which one to plan for your upcoming trip, that's a matter of personal preference. If you're only going to be in the theme parks for a day or two, I'd recommend enjoying the attractions and experiences as much as possible and finding a great Quick Service location for dinner along the way. If you have some extra time to slow down a bit, there are some incredible Table Service restaurants both in and out of the theme parks. Please feel free to write back again with which theme park you'll be in and whether you'd like Table or Quick Service restaurants, and we'd be happy to share some specific recommendations for you!
I hope that you have a truly magical...and delicious...vacation, Jaiya!
