Hi everyone . Really appreciate the great info . Have a reservation for Donald breakfast at the Tusker House at 8:15 ,what time should we expect to take the bus from AKL to get there 15 min early and do you think we'll be done by park opening at 9?

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a very quick bus ride from the Animal Kingdom park, less than 10 minutes. However, you also need to factor in possible wait time at the Lodge for a bus to arrive, and you also need to add time to go through security at the AK and walk from the front gate of the park to the restaurant. (There will be a special turnstile open just for guests with early character meal reservations.) I would try to leave the AKL in the 7:15 to 7:30 range. You could be a bit early, but then they may be able to seat you early.

Particularly if you are early, I think there is a high likelihood that you could be done with your meal just as the park is opening. In my experience the vast majority of character dining experience take about an hour,  if you're quick eaters, then 45 minutes is a reasonable expectation.

If you want to make sure that you're done with your meal quickly, my hubby invented this time-saving trick for Disney buffet restaurants such as the Tusker House breakfast. When we're at WDW buffets, hubby asks for the check at the beginning of the meal. Since the price of the meal is set in advance, the server can figure how much your bill will be right when you walk in the door (also works for the dining plan, by the way). You can get the bill-paying done in advance, while you're still eating, so you're not waiting around the check while you'd rather be out touring. Obviously this is not necessary, or even enjoyable, if you're in total leisure mode, but if you're running out to be first in line for the Safari, then this can be a good time saving tool.
