hi everyone my family of 6 adults and 7 children (all under the age of 10) are deciding on what would be a better option for us. it between a merrytime cruise or doing a week in Disney world. what are your opinions?!?

    Ahoy, Kristin!

This is a great question and really not an easy decision because both options are spectacular! I've visited the Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season and sailed on a couple Very Merrytime Cruises, so I'm going to give you a little taste of both, and hopefully it will help steer you towards your difficult decision.

First, nothing compares to seeing the Walt Disney World Resort decorated for the holidays! There are special events to attend like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom (additional ticket will be required), the Candlelight Processional at Epcot and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Fireworks Show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Since you'll have a week, you should be able to spread your park days out and plan time to enjoy your resort and possibly visit other resorts to see the holiday decor. Your Mouseketeers will most likely want time to swim since the pools are heated! Something else to consider is your family's interest in experiencing attractions. This is something you will not get onboard Disney Cruise Line (besides the waterslides) so it should be part of your decision.

A Very Merrytime Cruise will give everyone in your party time to relax and unwind since you won't be traveling from park to park and from attraction to attraction. The decorations are amazing and will definitely put you in the holiday spirit! You won't have attractions to experience, but you will have the wonderful youth spaces, which are included in the cruise fare for ages 3 to 17 (and adult-only areas too!). There will be lots for your family to enjoy together (think fun, holiday themed events amongst the regular programming and beautiful ports of call), but also something for every age group. Dinner each evening is special because it's when everyone comes together to share magical moments from the day!

Disney vacation memories make the best gift so you can't go wrong, Kristin! Good luck with the decision!
