Hello Caroline,
When most people think of visiting Walt Disney World, an image of a family comes to mind. But some of my most magical and memorable trips have been with my friends and YES, leaving the kids at home with the grandparents.
As Downtown Disney slowly reimaginEARS itself to Disney Springs, along with it comes some fantastic dining additions. First, is the addition of several Food Trucks, with a variety of world wide flavors, found in the West Side of Downtown Disney. While it is not a sit down establishment, a great idea is taste testing beverages at many of the Downtown Disney dining establishments and making stops here to try each of the Food Truck options. Even though
Splitsville has been open since December 2012, it continues to be a lively bowling establishment of fun and amazing food and drinks and now on Saturday nights, bands take the stage for a great night to remember. Lane reservation are highly recommended and can be made by calling (407) 939-PINS, dining only reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE. If you are looking for a more laid back night, I highly recommend making advance dining reservation at
The Boathouse. With amazing waterfront views and a menu of fine food selections, this top notch choice is one to remember and afterwards consider taking a cruise in one of the Amphicars. If you are looking for a more worldly inspired dining experience, September 30th is the highly anticipated opening of Morimoto Asia. With an asian sophistication of both ambience, decor and culinary creations, Morimoto Asia will be a welcomed addition to the many fine establishments in Downtown Disney.
I hope this helps with your planning and if you need further pixie dusted advice feel free to ask. May your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World be filled with many magical and memorable moments.
