Welcome aboard, Alexandra! My family and I have enjoyed the most amazing vacations at sea with Disney, and each and every one of them has been unique and special in its own way!
While I haven't sailed over Memorial Day weekend, I have been on multiple sailings that were sold out, so that is as crowded as it could get. When the ship is full, there are certainly a few times when you will be in crowds, but the rest of the time, since there are activities all over the ship and so many different venues, the crowds are so dispersed, you won't feel crowded at all. On those sold out sailings, the times that I noticed the crowds were at the deck parties: the
Sail Away Celebration and the
Pirate Night Deck Party. Those were the only two times when the majority of the guests all congregated in the same location - up on deck. And even then, it wasn't bad at all. Actually, we've been on very light sailings when there weren't many guests onboard, and I prefer the deck parties when they are packed full of people instead of less populated, because it adds to the exciting atmosphere of the party!
Throughout the rest of the cruise, there are different dinner seatings, and tables are assigned, so no need to rush to get a spot. While some guests are dining, others are enjoying the nightly Broadway-style show in the Walt Disney Theatre. In port, some guests leave the ship for Port Adventures, while others stay onboard to enjoy the normally busy areas like the AquaDuck when the lines are shorter. During the days and nights, activities are tailored to different ages and interests with so many things taking place at the same time in different spots of the ship, the crowds are so well spread out, we always enjoy a relaxing experience!
Have fun planning, Alexandra!
