Hi Alex,
The only thing better than visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth is sharing the experience with loved ones! Hearing that you're planning a multi-generational visit makes my heart super happy! I have many wonderful memories myself of visiting with my parents and grandparents when I was a kiddo, and my husband and I love our trips now when we can go with both our children
and our parents. Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to bring the whole family together!
While your sources are correct that the
My Disney Experience mobile app is an excellent tool and can be useful for all sorts of things like joining a virtual queue, placing a mobile food order, checking current wait times, finding turn by turn directions, and more, I'm happy to let you know that every Guest doesn't have to have access to it personally. For example, I have five kiddos, but three of them are still too young to have a smartphone. I simply manage their plans for them! With the
Family & Friends list, you'll be able to use the app yourself to make any plans for your entire group, including your Father. For example, when you go to join the virtual queue for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you'll be able to create your party so that you may all board and enjoy the experience together. In fact, the app should automagically select anyone with a reservation for Disney's Hollywood Studios that day to join the Boarding Group with you, but you can make changes if need be. (Just do so quickly, as Boarding Groups fill up fast!) As for
mobile ordering, you can feel free to do that as a group, too. My husband usually orders for our entire family, and that way we don't have to juggle multiple individual orders.
Connecting via the Family & Friends list makes planning with a group easy peasy!
I hope I've been able to put your mind at ease a bit, Alex. If we can help with anything else as you're planning your visit, please don't hesitate to come back and see us again. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation together!
Missy
