Hi Erin-You've been a GREAT help in the past. Were the rules changed on the backpacks with wheels? I was there in Aug and saw many people pulling them, I'm back in Feb and was thinking of using one. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the kind words.

The Moms have not been informed about any recent or upcoming changes to the in-park prohibition against wheeled backpacks. As you can see on the WDW website HERE, the no-wheeled-backpacks rule is still publically posted.

I have been to WDW on five different trips in the last six months and have never seen a wheeled backpack used in the theme parks. There may be a few possible explanations for why you have had a different experience:

    - New security staff members were not fully informed about the policy and let some guests through

    - A guest has a medical excuse to use this type of container

    - There is a special event for which the no-wheel restriction has been temporarily waived. For example, Disney pin traders often store their collections in special wheeled luggage. If there were a large in-park pin event, you might see these rolling pin cases present.

Personally, I would not risk bringing a wheeled backpack to the parks. If you have more gear than you can comfortably carry with you while touring, then you may want to consider renting a locker at the parks.
